Was it God or was it Satan who incited David to count his people?
2 Samuel 24:1 (Amplified Bible)
1 AGAIN THE anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and He moved David against them, saying, Go, number Israel and Judah.
1 Chronicles 21:1 (Amplified Bible)
1 SATAN [an adversary] stood up against Israel and stirred up David to number Israel.
Did God or Satan tell David to number the people? The Samuel writer bypassed mentioning Satan at all and the Chronicles author mentioned the name of the tool God used. This is one of the examples that play out every day of how God uses Satan to test His people. Is the term Satan merely a term to describe the anger of the Lord? Is the Lord simply another term for Satan?
Yes, satan is always there to attack you and bring evil thoughts in your mind. If you are fully submitted to God, satan has no place in your heart. Here David and people of Israel sinned against God , and their heart was away from God. At that moment satan entered in their heart and his heart become proud,He wanted to show his military strength, forgetting that it was God who gave him victory.
