Catholics: Bible Translations?
I was looking online for a free audio Bible download so that I could put them on CD. I was not able to find a certified Catholic translation, but came across the entire World English Bible (of course it is missing the Deuterocanonical books). Other than the fact that the canon is incomplete to our standards, is the translation in any way wrong, deceptive, or in error to the Roman Catholic faith? Also, does anyone know where I could download a complete Catholic audio Bible (NAB, Ignatius, etc.)?
*Generally* speaking (there are exceptions like the WEB), only very old bibles are public domain and so available online for free audio download. As far as I know, there is no such download for the Douay-Rheims, which is the only public-domain Roman Catholic bible.
The Contemporary English Version (partially available at BibleGateway) has had the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs approved for use by Roman Catholics in America.
