Challenge to all: Is there even ONE good reason gay marriage is illegal that does not rely on The Bible?

If our elected officials decided to kill all of the Christians one day, would that that be ethical?
Not being able to conceive does not work either. If that was a problem then people who could not or chose not to produce children would not be able to marry.
Having gay parents will not harm children. Just because the family isn't set up like everyone elses does not hurt them.
Animals and children cannot be legally held to the marriage contract because they do not have legal rights. Also polygamy would not result as it would convulute our legal system. It would not give those in the contract clear rights and responsibilities.
