Bible Concordance Strong's

Christians is there a Bible vs that says we are not to pray to Jesus,only to the Father?

Jesus taught His disciples to pray, Our Father who aren't in heaven, but does that mean we should never pray to Jesus or the Holy Spirit? What is your understanding on that thought? I heard a TV preacher saying Jesus told the disciples not to pray to Him. I couldn't find any such verse even in Strong's Concordance.

Yes, Jesus instructs us to pray to the Father and to make our requests in Jesus name. Jesus also says that whatever you ask of me I will do, John 14:14.

The way that I understand this is that the differences is in the roles that they each have for us. Jesus intercedes for us to the Father. This means that we can ask Jesus to present our needs and desires to the Father for us, kind of like Mom preparing Dad for the "news" he is about to hear from his child. It is our heavenly Father that is our provider in all things. This is why we ask and pray to the Father. By using Jesus name in our request it is also a confirmation of the authority we have as believers through Jesus that He gives us.

The main thing about prayer is that it is not about presenting a wish list to the right person of God. It is about opening a line of communication from you to your heavenly Father and from Him to you. When we pray we are talking to God and He is talking to us. If we do not take the time to be still and listen to what He has to say then we may well have missed hearing the answer to our prayer request.

Prayer is how we commune with our God and heavenly Father. Prayer is where we start to become intimate with God and get to know Him one on one. This is the relationship that we began when we accepted the path to God through Jesus. The growth and maturing of this relationship is up to each one of us and God is willing to take us as far as we are willing to go with Him. God has already done His part and is always available, we never have to make an appointment or wait until He is not so busy.

The Holy Spirit is our deposit of the promise from God and of God that He will never leave us or forsake us. The Holy Spirit is the person of God that God the Father works through in changing us from the inside out. It is the Father that molds and shapes us through the Holy Spirit and it is the Holy Spirit that empowers us to do the will of the Father. It is the Holy Spirit that leads us in to all truth.

The way that all three persons of God that are one work together and yet separately could be because of their residency. The spirit realm is the dominate realm and we live and operate in the physical realm. The physical realm was created for the purpose and pleasure of God. God the Father and Jesus reside in the spiritual realm and the Holy Spirit lives here on earth in the family of God.
