Does the bible really show anyone being saved from a venomous snake bite?
According to the bible Paul was bitten, and was saved by his god. A little check up on biblical geography would put Paul on the island of Malta at the time he was bitten. There has never been any venomous snakes on Malta. This, along with the "they shall take up serpents" bit has caused many deaths among those who haven't done their homework. Anyone who wishes to bring up the story of moses and the snake on a pole bit, nothing written a thousand years after the fact counts as even a tiny bit reliable.
HolyHolly: The Torah contains a detailed account of Moses' death and the events that followed. Do you still insist that Moses wrote it? Quite a neat trick to pull off.
You are correct that the account, if it even happened, is highly exaggerated. There is no historic proof that the stories about Moses are true either, in fact they sound like bs stories to entertain children. There is no evidence that shows any deity has ever saved anyone, from snakes or otherwise. Dumb luck and coincidence is what it boils down to. The bible is a lousy source for historic accounts, since most of it has already been proved to be inaccurate, if not outright lies.
