Is the New International Version of the Bible just a translation of the King James Version or....?
did someone re-translate it from Hebrew....
KJV was translated via latin from the Biblia Vulgata used by the catholic church at the time, with the septuagint (greek OT) as a source for OT as well.
The NIV is translated from the oldest sources available today, which are quite a lot older than what was available in 1611.
There's a reason the "KJV is the only real bible" people are a laughingstock, even among other Christians.
