What are the factors affecting the interpretation of the Bible?
i think they're 4? i can't find them anywhere!
The four main areas of New Testament exegesis are lexical, morphological, grammatical, contextual.
Lexical = the words themselves
Morphological = the linguistic form of those words
Grammatical = linguistic structure
Contextual = literary, historical, and cultural setting of the text

In Medieval times, allegory figured quite prominently in interpretation, though modern scholars try to interpret texts in the way they were intended, which may or may not be literal or figurative.
