So tell me something folks, Is the King James Holy Bible the words from god?

I have been told by some people I must not rely on the words in the King James versian of the bible. It is false information. So what they are telling me then is that the millions of people that have relied on for guidence to thier god is false. They all tell me I should read this book or that book or this version or that version. What is to make me think they versian or book they suggest is the right one.

The Authorized Version is a splendid English text, that should be recommended if only for its literary beauty. It bears the seal of King James Stuart, but is based on many previous translations, dating back from the times of John Wyclif and the many Reformation trends in England and on the continent. Great specialists of Hebrew and Greek Scriptures worked on it in the times of Queen Elisabeth I, in the wake of Luther's translation of the Bible into German and Calvin's friends into French. So all this enterprise must not be despised.

God's words have always been transmitted to men, called prophets, and if you read closely any version of the Bible, you'll see that the original words from God have always been interpreted and "changed" by men, by Moses to begin with, with God's approval. Only muslim fundamentalists believe that God's words have been copied without any change by their prophet receiving them from heavenly dictation. This belief is totally opposed to christian and Jewish tradition, teaching that God speaks to men in their own language, and that his message has to be published to all men in their own idiom. The first translations of the Hebrew Bible into Aramaic are mentioned in the book of Nehemiah, and are very ancient and authorized by the rabbis.
