Is it wrong to refer to a group of people as....?
Xians? Why not Xmons, or Xlims? How about Xolics? Or maybe Xews? Please don't misunderstand, I am all to aware of the disdain held by some at the very mention of 'Christ'. However, all would have to agree that the Greek term Christos is derived from the Hebrew term Mashiach, both of which form the English "Messiah" or "Anointed One." I am equally aware that 'Jesus' is not the first person that the Bible refers to as Mashiach....King Cyrus, was one. King Saul is also called 'the anointed of the L-rd.'
To me, referring to a people group simply as 'Xians' is not only degrading and demeaning, but DEHUMANIZING as well. Remember, it was the Japanese who referred to their Chinese captives as 'logs', and the Nazi's referred to their prisoners as 'chattel.' When we depersonalize someone or a group of people, it makes them less human, and easier to exploit and abuse.

Originally the X had a P in the middle of it and it represented the Greek sign for Christ. However, it has been shortened to X and gives the appearance of taking Christ out of the word.
I too believe it is demeaning and a shame. I refuse to go into a business and give them my money if they advertise with a Merry Xmas.
When someone uses that term, what they are saying is minimized in my mind.
The saddest part of this is there are some Christians that think the X really stands for Christ and use this out of ignorance.
Christians are being beginning o be exploited and abused now. Unfortunately, it will get worse
