I'd say not many people would take the effort seriously.
Very few persons today even know about the Jeffersonian Bible, much less how to find one.
But unlike a modern day fraud would do, Jefferson clearly declared the purpose of his Bible, and he made it clear that he purposely excluded much of the content.
Today, the politician would call it the "corrected" and "more accurate" Bible.
