Luke

Who was "Luke" and where can I find his story in the Bible?

I kow the author of "Luke" is the same author of "Acts" but who is Luke? Where is he mentioned and where can I read his story?

Luke, the author of the third gospel, was the "beloved physician" and close friend and companion of the Apostle Paul. Luke was probably the only Gentile author of any part of the New Testament. We know nothing about his early life or conversion except that he was not an eyewitness of the life of Jesus Christ. He was a physician by profession, but he was primarily an evangelist and accompanied Paul in missionary work. Luke was with Paul at the time of the apostle's martyrdom (2 Tim 4:11), but of his later life we have no certain facts. The Gospel of Luke was specifically dedicated to Theophilus, but is slanted toward all Gentiles.
