Fairy tales?
I assume everyone reading this question has during the course of their lifetime heard a story of a prince on a white horse, battling against trecherous foes and traps to gain something worth of a fight.
In these stories, the main character never addresses the listeners directly, you always find him interacting with other characters in order for him to convey the message of the tale.
The point of fairytales is for the reader/listener to imagine him being the prince, to relive in your own mind what is happening in the tale.
Can't this be said the same for Jesus Christ?
He didn't write a passage in the bible, he didn't tell his words to the reader, he told the words to his companions and they in turn placed it before you.
Are you able to put yourself in my position and see the bible as a fairytale which conveys the message of Christ?
Can you imagine yourself as Jesus going through all his adventures but not as a viewer, but as an actor in his place?
To many, if you take out all context of historical accuracy (of which there almost isn't any to begin with) and instead just look at the Bible as a collection of religious stories created to inspire and guide the readers in an their attempts to live a better life, they take on a new and bright context.
Then there's no dogmatic adherence to outdated concepts but instead strong root messages that tell people to be good to others and endeavour to be better people, if only for the sake of it.
Suddenly faith seems so much less evil to me and it quickly becomes harder for all the atrocities of the past to be repeated by zealots.
No one ever invaded the holy land due to the stories of the brothers Grimm.
