How does Green Day view Christianity?

Hi guys,

As a huge Green Day fan and protestant Christian myself, I can tell you that no Green Day are not atheist. I have done some research on the topic. They are not against Christianity itself. They are against the way some people preach something and then do something else. They are against how fake religions has become, and how people become "faith fanatics". Billie Joe wrote the song East Jesus Nowhere after he went to a catholic church for a friend's baby's baptism. He saw that the priest guy was just telling everybody to be a certain way, banning originality. If you know Green Day you know that's like a blasphemy. Other than that Billie himself has said that he loves Jesus.

I personally agree with Green Day's view because Christianity has become pretty much a joke, a fanatism, not feeling God in your life. Just sitting in a bench every Sunday. You might as well go to the park and do the same plus get fresh air. That is for the majority of mega-churches, the famous ones and of course catholics. If you are catholic, you won’t like Green Day's view on it. Just think about it, some random guy, that's dressed a certain way, will make a boring speech so you go to heaven. I don't think so and neuther do they. Green Day is like that, even if they aren't Christians they can see what religion has become. That for “21st Century Breakdown”. As for Jesus Of Suburbia, from American Idiot, it's just a name and maybe slightly is somewhat of a metaphor. And lastly they got the name Bullet In A Bible from the museum they visited where the concerts took place. If you watch Bullet In A Bible you see that lady says so to them. A very small part of that footage is cut. The lady says "we have a Bible with a bullet in it, that would be your song" you don't see the "that would be your song" part because they don't have a song like that and had not named the DVD so they also got it from there because apparently it belonged. When there were live songs in the Green Day youtube channel you could have seen it.
