Why don’t church leaders encourage their flocks to not have a too literal interpretation of bible stories?
Why can’t they just say, “Look guys, these are just stories to better illustrate for you the difference between right and wrong and that even though God loves you, he won’t hesitate to kill everyone and everything if you guys piss him off, ok? So don’t piss him off and don’t take these stories literally, ok? Now, who put the ‘buy two donuts, get one free’ voucher in the collection plate?”
Because if they did, They would be voted out by the Church board for preaching their own version of the Gospel. But don't worry, Some Church leaders do teach their members that . God bless ! & Merry CHRISTmas !
