If the Bible is so important to mankind, why didn't NASA bother to include it on the gold record on Voyager II?
I guess god's message wasn't deemed too important by NASA. Oh well, maybe the aliens will see this as a sign of intelligence.
Only 2 printed messages were included - one from President Carter and one from U.N. Secretary General Waldheim. Neither of them wrote the bible.
The purpose of the gold record was to relay the most basic - and yet most multifaceted - description of our PLANET to aliens in a manner that could be easily comprehended. No lengthy text could possibly have been included, symbolically in a way that might be understandable to alien life, in the limited space provided. Not even our greatest sonnets or other extremely brief works of literature were included because they simply are not "accessible" (comprehensible) to someone who is not literate and fluent in the language provided.
What all that means is: we guess that aliens don't know enough about us to figure out how to read any of our languages..
