Bible Women Study
If someone in your bible study is pregnant, would you give them a small gift when their baby is born?
This woman is in my bible study group and I have only known her for a few months, and I wondered if I should be giving her a small gift (such as booties or a bib or something for her baby) when the baby is born, or just leave it and say congratulations?
To the guy said do whatever moves you or why are you studying the bible - they are two different things. Just because I choose to study the bible (because I believe it) doesn't mean it is appropriate to give a gift to someone when their baby is born...
Sorry, I guess I should have been a little more clear, the only reason I thought about not giving the lady a gift was that I didn't feel I know her that well, she's definitely married, so am not objecting in that way at all!
I would think that it isn't expected by any means but if you like her or if it is just 'you' to give a gift then feel free...but I wouldn't go overboard or she might be uncomfortable with it. New babies are always a good reason to give gifts and unlike birthdays that come every year they only come once in a while (for most people anyway), so they are kind of a different situation.
