can my son become a priest?

I may seem stupid. i am in my early 30s . I dont have a kid yet. But nowadays i feel something strangely. If i get a son , can i give him to my religion as catholic priest? Is it a God's call? or my imagination?

No, you cannot “give” your child to God as a priest or a nun. The Church recognizes that devoting one’s life to celibacy and prayer are not decisions others can make for someone else. The choice to enter the Priesthood/Convent absolutely must be a conscious decision made by the individual. And even then, there are several steps towards priest/sister-hood where the individual has to make a conscious choice to continue the path.

What I do recommend is that when you do have children, you raise them in a good home with strong beliefs in whatever faith you and your husband choose. That way you will be assured that you have raised your children with good moral character so they can make these kinds of important life decisions for themselves.

Old saying: The family that prays together – stays together – is more true today than we realize.
