Catholic Saints Children
How come Martin Luther said that Children shouldn't even eat, until they recited the Lord's Prayer?
I was reading Martin Luther's Cateschism, and I was impressed with the beginning, because he says this on the topic of Church Faith:
"I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen."
So I like how he just says Christian Church, and not Catholic Church. 
But then, he says this:
"and which our children should be accustomed to recite daily when they arise in the morning, when they sit down to their meals, and when they retire at night; and until they repeat them, they should be given neither food nor drink."
Why is this?
yep, that's what he's saying.
By substituting the word "Christian" for "catholic", is Martin Luther saying that the Chgurch should not include people of every race and nationality?
In regards to not eating until a child recites the Lord's Prayer, I think that Martin Luther was using a bit of hyperbole there, similar to when Jesus said a man must hate his mother and father to follow Him. Martin Luther is stating the importance of prayer.
