Catholic Saints Poster
Why Catholics traded in their churches; in their own temple when in the bible says that Jesus removed sellers?
I went to Mass and penultimate words of the priests were; who say that their followers should will buy food and beverages and other items such as magazines and posters of saints and other figures also idols of stone and other material (even with images of saints is wrong) ; within the church. But Jesus then with a whip, launched their goods of the sellers, struck and removed to the sellers; out of the temple from the sellers because he had become a market and said:
THIS IS MY TEMPLE OF PRAYER, BUT you have BECOME a den of robbers. So if I have some business, not forms part of that den of thieves into a temple.
The trading Jesus condemned was REQUIRED for worship, from the exchange (for a fee) of Roman money for shekels to the purchasing of animals for sacrifice. The selling sometimes done in the entryways of some Catholic churches is completely voluntary. No one has to buy anything. And no selling is ever done in the sanctuary.

New Saints and Blesseds of the Catholic Church, Vol. 2 $14.95 'In this second volume of New Saints and Blesseds of the Catholic Church are depicted the lives and deaths, the struggles and battles of those women and men who were raised to the honors of the altar by Pope John Paul II during the fours years from 1984 through 1987, in forty-nine beatification ceremonies and in seven canonization liturgies. ' Among them are Blesseds and Saints from a wide variety of countries, languages, ages and walks of life: lay people, religious, priests, and bishops, confessors and martyrs, including Edith Stein, Elizabeth of the Trinity, Titus Brandsma, Teresa of the Andes, and many more. All of them not only deserve reverence, but are worthy of imitation in their striving for perfection, in their fidelity to the Catholic faith and to the Church of Jesus Christ. ' The life of each one of these personages is portrayed briefly, occasionally in greater detail, followed by the homily which the Pope gave at the respective beatification or canonization ceremony. This papal address presents a very contemporary commentary on the life of the new Blessed or Saint. ' Anyone who reads these short biographies is edified and touched, moved to give thanks, that the Church, which today is so often reviled and criticized, is still in our days a ???Mother and teacher???, the Mother of Saints, and a guide to sanctity. Illustrated with many pictures .' 'Ferdinand Holb...ck, a German priest and renowned hagiographer, is the author of volume one in this series, and of Married Saints and Blesseds .' ' |

Saints for Now $14.95 The well-known writer and Catholic convert, Clare Booth Luce, edited this classic on the lives of saints by a group of world-famous authors. She asked twenty writers to contribute a short biography of their favorite saint to this volume. Writers such as Evelyn Waugh, E. I. Watkin, Whittaker Chambers, Thomas Merton, Barbara Ward and Karl Stern wrote stories of saints whose lives and message provided special significance for our times. Saints from every age of the Church are here, including St. Augustine, St. John the Apostle, St. Benedict, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Helena, St. Thomas More, the Curo of Ars, St. Thorase of Lisieux, and more. Each essay highlights some facet of the timeliness of each saint. As they differ in birth, condition, and talent, so to do the saints differ astoundingly from one another in the modes of expressing their holiness. "The saints present the now of Christianity in the many nows in which it has existed. Saints for Now helps us to explain our time, our now, to ourselves because it tells us how Christian saints lived their 'vows.'" " James V. Schall, S.J. , Author, Another Sort of Learning |
