Why doesn't Bible "talk" transcend time?
Excerpt from Exodus : "Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day. And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying,
Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass, And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair
I don't know about you, but I don't have access to gold, or goat's hair and I don't kindle fires in my home any day of the week. Why aren't these (and many other) direct quotes that men supposedly receive from the Lord relevant to all times and not just their time since these were laws for all mankind? Why does the Bible speak in terms of oxen, goats, and gold and not one message of cell phones, credit cards, and tractors?
