where is there a good bible companion?
I read the bible and believe it to be true. I was just wondering whether there is a good guide that could help me with my studies. I go to an Anglo catholic church of England church. I dont know many christian authors and was just wondering if someone could help me. Sensible answers please as I dont laugh at other peoples beliefs and religions and I dont expect other people to offend me by insulting christianity.
My favourite is the PC Study Bible - it has loads of information, plus Hebrew and Greek.
Also good old Strongs and Youngs where you can look up individual words and get a bit more insight.
David Pawson has written an excellent commentary. The best one I've read and the one I would really recommend you buy.
"My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers is an excellent devotional type book with wonderful insights. It's a must.
Best of all is prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to help you understand because Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would teach us all things.
