Dk Bible

Can you help me? Devoted christians only.?

Umm, i don't know if i'm truly a christian. I'm unsure about everything. I don't know if Jesus exsisted or not. I really want to believe but I don't even know if i believe in God. All the bible says to me is it's plausible. I can't just believe, it's like i need to understand. I want Jesus in my life. I want to repent and go to heaven but I dk. I don't pray bcuz i dk how. I don't go to church. Even if i did all they do is read scripture that doesn't teach me anything and tell stories of how my priest went to another state and a coincidence happened. I just want to know how to pray, how to truly believe in Jesus, and how to turn from wicked things and get my life on track. I want that feeling of comfort and that feeling of I know some is there watching over me. Please Help!!! Why do i not believe in God???

I think many Christians have gone through what you are experiencing right now. So please find some comfort in knowing that you are not the only one who has had these feelings.

First, I would suggest you simply open your heart to God. That is really all that prayer is, anyway. You don't have to use a certain formula, or fancy words, or Olde English. Just be yourself, and ask God to reveal Himself to you. It may take some time for you to feel His presence, but beleive me when I say, He has always been with you and He will never leave you.

Read the Bible. Find a version that you are comfortable reading, or even consider getting an audio-Bible. Read or listen to the Bible EVERY DAY. You don't have to read a bunch of chapters every day, and you don't have to read it from cover to cover... Not at first anyway. Think of this as spiritual exercise. You don't want to do too much too fast, or you will set yourself up for discouragement.

I'd reccommend reading from the books of Proverbs, Psalms, any of the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Church is a place where we are to go to be in the company of other believers. We worship God together, and stregthen one another. I highly recommend you find a church that you feel you can make your home. Try out several, go to the services, speak with members, talk with the pastors; then decide where you feel the most comfortable.
