How is Esther(from the bible) brave?
i was in my youth group and we were reading about esther and i was just wondering how is she brave, like what stories make her sound brave?
thank that helps but is there anything else?
What about her isn't considered brave? Esther was an orphan- her father died when her mother was pregnant, and her mother died in childbirth. She grew up and then got married to her uncle. The king Achashvarush decided that he wanted to have the prettiest wife in his 127 countries, and he didn't care that Esther was married- he took her anyways as a wife. Esther lived with a guy that she hated, in a place where she was forced to have no contact with anyone from her community, and family. Yet she kept her religion a secret, and she even practiced it in secret. What isn't brave about that? Then she is told in order to save her people ( whom no one knew she was part of, so she wouldn't have suffered with them) she needed to appear before the king. If she were to do this she would be risking her life since she wasn't called before him. So she appears and tells her husband, the king, that she wants to make a party. She knew that he wouldn't listen to what she had to say if she just told him on the spot that his adviser was plotting to kill her- she needed to create suspense. She stood up to him, even though he offered her half his kingdom to tell him what she wanted. She invites Achashavarosh, and his adviser Haman ( who is plotting to kill the entire Jewish nation) to a party. Achashavarosh is insanely jealous. She risked her husbands wrath to save her people! He thought that she and Haman were having and affair! At the party she invites them both to a second party. Again Achashvarosh is jealous. Only at the second party, does she risk her life again ( for if Achashavarosh doesn't believe her, he would kill her like he did to his first wife Vashti) and tells Achashvarosh that she is really a Jew, and could he please save her and her only nation. Now tell me what isn't brave about everything that she did??
