What if I told you the Bible was an ancient road map which is a bit dated?
Would that be such a catastrophic idea to accept?
It was written thousands of years ago, in a very different society.
Nobody sane thinks if their son starts drinking too much, they should stone him. We have interventions. We've become softer, and more reasonable.
And I sure hope nobody thinks marrying their daughter to her rapist is for the best.
So they had something against gay back then. Does it mean we have to adopt that prejudice as well? Or that we need to ascribe genocide to a God we posit as good?
I'm not Christian, but I think the Bible-worshippers are just silly.
It's an old book, and those things which you use to discriminate aren't even at the heart of its message. (Love your God before all and your neighbor like yourself - Jesus wasn't big on stoning).
