Mark

Fellow Bible readers and those who study..........?

Do you make notes and " hi light " points in your Bible? I have had the same for many years............. many times,I have thought that I should get a new one......but have hesitated because " my notes" are marked.

Just tonight, while searching for a " note", I realized just how disorganized my Bible has become.............my " notes" are no longer a quick glance, they are indeed helter skelter, and it is an ordeal to ' find' the right note or commentary.............in fact, I have 'notebooks" that guide me through my notebooks!

still, I hesitate to replace my Bible.

Do any of you find yourself in a like-minded situation? Why are we here? Why are we afraid to let go of the familiar even though it no longer serves us well? Have our Bibles, become " us"?

The Bible is the Bible is the Bible...................yet , I can't give mine up.........as broken as her binding is. I just continue to put the pages back in place.

When I had to remove an old study Bible from service, I took the old one and went through it with the new one and remarked the relevant passages or rewrote the relevant notes. It was rather time consuming, but it was also a good time of study, as I had to compare what I had marked previously with my current understanding and maturity level.

If you can't stand to part with the old one you could have it rebound. It's sometimes cheaper than purchasing a new one. But if you feel that you may be in bondage to the old you should replace it. The Word of God is living, so allow it to be alive to you.

Sometimes it's good for us to let go of the old notebooks and trust our Lord to guide us afresh and anew. The Holy Spirit is in the business of revealing things to us, not having us get stuck living in the past with old revelation.

Pray and seek your Lord's will about repairing the old Bible or moving on with a new one. I hope you'll be greatly blessed in your search.
