What are the differences between the Catholic edition and the Anglicized edition of the NRSV of the Bible?
I am Catholic but I could only find an Anglicized version; are there any differences?
Actually, I believe that there is also an Anglicized Catholic edition!!!
The difference between the Catholic Edition and the other editions of the NRSV is the number and order of Scriptures. Non-Catholic NRSV editions without the Apocrypha do not have the complete set of Scriptures (from the Roman Catholic point of view).Non-Catholic NRSV editions *with* the Apocrypha place the Scriptures of the Apocrypha in a different order than in Catholic Bibles, and also include a few Scriptures not found in Catholic Bibles.
Here you can see the difference - NRSV without the Apocrypha have **none** of these Scriptures; NRSV Catholic Edition have the Roman Catholic Scriptures (not the Apocrypha); NRSV *with* the Apocrypha have the Eastern Orthodox Scriptures excepting the book of Odes.

"Anglicized" means that British spellings are used in favor of American spellings. There are probably a very few words that are changed as well because they do not carry the same meaning in the U.K. as they do in the U.S.
