Catholics: are there any of you out there who live extremely separated lives (not monastic or cloistered)?
I'm specifically asking about typical lay Catholics, not monastic or cloistered.
In other traditions of Christianity, such as Independent Baptists and Pentecostals, there are pockets of extremely fervent Christians who:
- Wear extremely modest clothing
- never drink or smoke
- don't watch TV or movies
- never cuss
- strictly only listen to only Christian music
- Constantly read the Bible for themselves at home and memorize great volumes of scripture
- Consistently share the Gospel of the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ with as many poeple as possible
I would just like to know if there are lay Catholics out there like there are from other back grounds who choose to live in a similar way of their own accord?
Please understand, I'm not trying to prove anything based on whether you do or don't. I'm just curious.

Absolutely not the way you mentioned (based on description)
I've lived in Sicily (where almost everyone is Catholic) and here in the U.S. Never met one (not even older generations)
You might find people who don't cuss (because they consider it vulgar)
or drink/smoke (because they consider it unhealthy). But not for religious reasons.
Catholicism doesn't believe in relying solely on the Scriptures (Sola Scriptura is a big no no)
PS - my entire family, relatives, distant cousins...are ALL Catholics
