Does the Bibles inaccuracies point to it's authenticity as a historical document?
A fairytale can be perfect and seamless because it is not reality. Historical events and documents account historical events are studied for years by archeologists because they have innaccuracies in them. A single historical event can be written about by many different sources and can sound as if the descriptions are about different events. Everything from the names of people, to place names can vary in historical documents. I live in Swansea. However, if I was to look at medevil documents about this city I would see that in some of them the name Abertawe would be mentioned, which is the old name for the city. A documents inaccuracy could therefore indicate its authenticity. A fairy tale would show far more consistency and perfection in the story.
