Ultimate Bible Reference
Can you tell me why you do not believe in "God" without referring to the Bible?
I put "God" in quotations, because I wish to use that term more broadly than it is most often used by Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
If I ask someone, "Why don't you believe in God?" and they say, "Because the earth is more than 6000 years old" then they have told me NOTHING. I never thought the earth was only 6000 years old to begin with. I'm a Hindu.
I respect Atheists, and I know you have your reasons. Not trying to offensive. I'd just like to hear some arguments that do not involve reference to the Bible, or do not involve assuming that the Bible is the ultimate authority on all things religious.
liamtao: The Bible had authors. The authors had something "tell" THEM there was a "God." Why did THEY believe? People all over the world have tended to believe in God, way before they have books and literacy. Not saying this proves a God. Just trying to further clarify my question.

Well simply, if you don't go by the bible (or other religious texts), then there is nothing to tell me there is a god.
Therefore there is nothing to believe or disbelieve anything about a god, because without the bible pushing his existence, i have nothing to suggest he existed. It is a non-issue/problem.
That aside: Here are the main reasons why I don't believe
in god
Evolution (including evidence of unintelligent design)
Big Bang Theory
History of Religions (diversity of opinion, and change)
Evidence (or lack of) supporting Religions
Other Animals
Moral contradictions in some religious teaching.
How Impersonal Nature Is! (Think 'evil' in nature, natural disasters, etc, why make a world that threatens to kill it's population from a multitude of different ways)
Look up parasitoids or even the more commonly known parasites! What is god's will for them! To be a burden? To kill the host?
